In Memory

Today is September 11. The anniverary of that awful day that would go down in history and the story will be told and retold for generations.

Instead of creating legendary heroes, or demonising villians, I think there are other lessons to be learnt as well. I think it's time to repeat some quotations from my November 2005 posting.

'Do not accept anything based upon mere reports, tradition or hearsay,
Nor upon the authority of religious texts,
Nor upon mere reasons and arguments,
Nor upon one's own inference,
Nor upon anything which appears to be true,
Nor upon one's own speculative opinions,
Nor upon another's seeming ability,
Not upon the consideration: This is our Teacher.

But when you know for yourself that certain things are unwholesome and bad: tending to harm yourself or others, reject them.

And when you know for yourself that certain things are wholesome and good: Conducive to the spiritual welfare of yourself as well as others, accept them and follow them.'

'One should not honour only one's own religion and condemn the religion of others, but one should honour others' religions for this or that reason. In doing so, one helps one's own religion to grow and renders service to the religion of others too. In acting otherwise, one digs the grave of one's own religion and also does harm to other religions. Whosoever honours his own religion and condemns other religions does so indeed through devotion to his own religion, thinking, "I will glorify my own religion." But on the contrary, in doing so, he injures his own religion more gravely, so concord is good. Let all listen and be willing to listen to the doctrines professed by others.'

A Blog I Read

I read a posting recently.

http://www.kennysia.com/archives/2006/09/close_one_eye.php

How many men find the pill as hard to swallow as the authour?

I have experienced a man showing me a photo of his family, telling me two of his lovers had similar names to mine, and making a pass at me within the space of half an hour... among other things. This was not in Asia where the trend, as was commented by many readers of that blog, isto be prevalent. The man in concern was not Asian either. Neither was his wife, family nor lovers (he was telling me how gorgeous a Scandinavian exchange student staying with him was).

I would also like to add that the most recent incident was not when I was a "sweet, young and succulent" 18-year-old either. Considering everthing, I have never been "sweet, young and succulent", especially when I am in the mood to do damage to a person who is trying to draw me into his harem.

Men should really learn to get some things out of their system.

And women should learn to do without men who can't.

Satisfied

A weekend well-spent is a wonderful thing. It's a good feeling when lots get accomplished, what started out as bad becomes good, and good tidings come for not just myself, but others I care about too.

Of all things done and happening today, I got to be my silly self, my serious self, my old self, and my current self. It was more or less brought on by circumstances, tasks, as well as a trip down memory lane followed by future possibilities.

I am happy for myself... and what's more (yes, more than that) I am happy for other people.

I love it when happiness happens all together.

To Start A Day

Maybe seeing you already logged on from within the same building makes the start of my day a little better.
